GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AP) — Jordy Alcívar scored a first-half penalty to help Ecuador draw 1-1 against Mexico on Tuesday in a warm-up match for both teams for the 2026 World Cup.
The German Berterame opened the scoring in the third minute, but Alcívar equalized in the 20th minute.

Mexico, which will play the next World Cup as co-host with Canada and the United States, extended its winless streak to four games.
Mexico lost 4-0 to Colombia last Saturday and has not won a match since beating an alternative United States team in the Gold Cup final on July 6.
The Mexicans will try to end that streak in November when they play against Uruguay.
Ecuador, which ranked second in South America just behind Argentina, drew 1-1 against the United States last Friday.
