OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – An Oklahoma man has been arrested for allegedly posing as a lawyer to gain access to his girlfriend who is locked up in the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Aaron Oldham went to the attorney visitation area of ​​the Oklahoma County Detention Center on Oct. 13 saying he was an attorney and asking to see Christine Hillier. Hillier is being held in jail on a warrant from Nevada.

Oklahoma City teacher arrested, accused of abusing autistic student

According to court documents, Oldham referred to Hillier as his client. Once inside an attorney’s visiting booth, the couple filled out the power of attorney paperwork and then began kissing and hugging. Investigators say Oldham has not received any legal training and has never had a license to practice law.

When Oldham was arrested, he told officers he believed he had attorney-client privilege with Hillier because she is his girlfriend.
