There are 26 schools or athletics departments that are private or that are public schools covered by state law that exempts them from releasing complete compensation data on coaches. The schools that provided contracted documents had the opportunity to review their figures. Due to the recent changes in the American football playoff format and the old division structures of several conferences, schools also specifically had the opportunity to provide information on how these changes affected existing bonus provisions.

Any payment of the guaranteed university (even if you pay it for the shoes/clothing company or other source) is included as “school salary”. Anything not guaranteed by the University is included in the “total payment.”
