UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava will reportedly miss Saturday’s matchup against No. 1 Ohio State due to a concussion, according to On3’s Brett McMurphy and ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Iamaleava suffered the injury during last week’s 28-21 loss to Nebraska, but he didn’t start feeling symptoms until after the game. The UCLA signal-caller was 17-for-25 with 191 passing yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing 15 times for 86 yards.

Redshirt sophomore Luke Duncan will make his first career start with Iamaleava out.

Following his transfer from Tennessee, Iamaleave recorded 1,659 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, along with 474 yards and four touchdowns rushing in his first season with UCLA.

UCLA started the season 0-4 and then won three straight in October, including a victory over then-No. 7 Pennsylvania State. But two straight losses have put the team in a situation where they need to win to be bowl eligible.

The Bruins finish the regular season at home against Washington next week and then travel to face USC on November 29.
