The warning occurs when the head of the UN refugee agency, UNRWA, renewed their call to allow foreign journalists to the Gaza Strip to counteract the “Information War”, which includes the denial that the famine has rooted and is spreading.

In the city of Gaza, Ocha reported that in just five days, 11 UNRWA stores served as emergency shelters for about 11,000 people there have been damaged after receiving direct or indirect successes.

Displacement in the increase

More than one million people throughout the strip have been displaced since the high fire between Israel and Hamas collapsed in mid -March, the agency said.

The numbers are increasing rapidly, with about 200,000 displacements recorded from north to southern Gaza during the last month, including 56,000 from Sunday.

Despite the strong restrictions, the UN and the partners are doing everything possible to reach people throughout the devastated enclave with support to save lives.

Hot meals and malnutrition treatment

Humanitarians collected more than 12,500 metric tons of wheat flour, food plots and bulk supplies from Israelis controlled during the first half of this month.

They also served almost 560,000 meals daily to 116 kitchens and provided 10,000 bread breads to people who move to the south.

The teams have continued to project children for malnutrition and enrolled them to receive treatment.

The UN Children’s Agency, UNICEF, sent more than 200,000 nutrient -rich baby food packages to help couples, enough to support more than 63,000 babies and young children for two weeks.

In addition, UNICEF provided 10,000 boxes of high -energy cookies, enough to help more than 10,000 pregnant women and breastfeeding of acute breastfeeding for a month.

Medical care supplies

To address the medical care crisis, almost 900 essential medical supplies of the crosses between Gaza and Israel were collected and are being delivered to health centers.

The teams also sent 120 an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and emergency beds, as well as four anesthesia machines, to the Al Aqsa hospital in Deir Al-Balah.

Humanitarians have also supported desalination and water efforts in trucks in all parts of the gaza strip. This adds to expand the collection of solid waste and safe elimination of about 1,300 cubic meters of garbage daily and distribute items such as 1,000 hygiene kits.

Hunger support, ‘systematically blocked’

Ocha again repeated his message that the help that currently comes to people is far below the immense needs.

“The opportunities to support famous people are being systematically blocked. Every week, new restrictions are imposed,” the agency said.

For example, Zikim Crossing, the only one that goes directly from Israel to the north, where famine has been confirmed, has closed since the weekend.

“Israeli authorities have also classified some foods, such as peanut butter, since” luxuries “not allowed, leaving large amounts of help already processed trapped outside Gaza. In addition, the inspection rules vary according to the route, creating unpredictability and unnecessary delays.”

Humanitarian movements within Gaza are also being blocked. On Wednesday, Israel denied three of the 14 confirmed movements, two of which would bring food to the north.

Media and misinformation ‘battlefield’

Also on Thursday, the General Commissioner of the UNRWA, Phillipe Lazzarini, issued a new call for international media to be allowed in the Gaza Strip, which “has been the battlefield of a war of fierce and unbridled information.”

Publishing in X, he said that “misinformation continues to be used as a tool to distract from atrocities in the enclave devastated by war.”

He said that UNRWA was the first objective, followed by other UN agencies, media and health institutions, while “the recent denial of the famine in Gaza, as well as the conclusions of the UN Research Commission published this week are the last examples.”

The objective is to undermine the evaluations and analysis by experts and promote narratives that deny atrocities and dehumanize the Palestinians.

“Meanwhile, the heroic work of Palestinian journalists continues against wind and tide as Israeli military operations expand,” he said.

“It is time to allow international journalists to enter Gaza to support their Palestinian colleagues before their voices are also silenced. It is time to inform independently about the events.”
