Masoud Peeshkian began his comments by defending the importance of equality and mutual respect among all peoples.
“The basis of all divine religions and human consciousness is this golden maximum: what you would not approve for yourself, do not approve for others,” he said.
However, he pointed out that the last two years have seen the genocide in Gaza, the destruction of the houses in Lebanon, and the repeated violation of their sovereignty and territorial integrity, the devastation of the infrastructure of Syria, the assaults A Yemen and the rise of Iranian scientists.
He asked the leaders: “Would those things collapse for yourself?”
‘Serious betrayal of diplomacy’
Mr. Pezeshkian recalled that in June, Iran “was subjected to a wild aggression in the flagrant contravention of the most elementary principles of international law,” referring to American and Israeli air attacks in their nuclear facilities and other infrastructure.
They were happening “precisely at a time when we were stepping on the path of diplomatic negotiations” and “constituted a serious betrayal of diplomacy and a subversion of efforts towards the establishment of stability and peace.”
He warned that “if we do not face such dangerous infractions of international standards, these aberrations will extend to engulf the world.”
Hope for the region
Iranian president also spoke against what he called “the ridiculous and delusional scheme of a great Israel”, which covers “vast stripes of the region.”
Instead, he imagined “our powerful will go with the powerful neighbors within a strong region with a radiant future” in which “they join a great project that imposes genocide, destruction and stability in the region.”
“In such a strong region, the killing and bloodshed will not find a place. It is for this same reason that my country has been among the strongest defenders of establishing a region free of weapons of mass destruction,” he said.
“However, those who have the largest nuclear arsenals and that, in flagrant, the violation of the TNP (non -proliferation treaty) makes their even more mortal and more destructive weapons have submitted our people for years on the basis of spurious accusations.”
He went to the UN Security Council meeting last week, where members rejected a resolution to raise the sanctions against IR will imposed before a 2015 agreement on its nuclear program known as the Comprehensive Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA).
He said that “three European states had failed for a decade of bad faith and, subsequently, when supporting military aggression to put on the proud people of Iran, at the request of the United States of America” he tried to restore the resolutions of the council that had already been completed.
“For this I declare once again before this assembly that Iran has never sought and will never seek to build a nuclear bomb.”
He said the future should be based on cooperation, trust and shared development for all nations.
