Rocket Mortgage claimed the top spot in mortgage origination volume in 2025, surpassing previous leader United Wholesale Mortgage, according to Home Mortgage Disclosure Act data.
While nearly 5,000 lenders originated mortgages in 2025, most of the activity is concentrated at the top: The 10 largest mortgage lenders accounted for more than 23% of all mortgage loans originated in the United States and more than 25% of the dollar volume of loans originated during the year.
