Former Los Angeles police detective Mark Fuhrman, who was convicted of lying during his testimony in the OJ Simpson murder trial, has died.

BOISE, IDAHO – Former LAPD Detective Mark Fuhrman, who was convicted of lying during his testimony in the OJ Simpson murder trial, has died. Foreman was one of the first two police detectives sent to investigate the case 1994 Murder of Simpson’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her boyfriend Ronald Goldman in Los Angeles. He reported that a bloodstained glove was found in Simpson’s home, but his credibility was severely attacked during the trial as the defense raised the possibility of racial bias. During cross-examination, Foreman testified that he had never made racial slurs against black people over the past 10 years, but a recording by an aspiring screenwriter showed that he had done so repeatedly.

Foreman died on May 12, said Len Acebido, deputy chief medical examiner for Kootenai County, Idaho. The province does not announce the cause of death as a rule.

Foreman retired from the Los Angeles Police Department after Simpson’s 1995 acquittal.
