SPB Hospitality – Krystal Matrix Company, Logan’s Roadhouse, J. Alexander’s Kitchen & Bar, and more, has announced the appointment of GJ Hart as CEO and president, immediately valid. The former Robin and Torchy’s Tacos CEO takes the reins of Josh Kern, who is giving up looking for another opportunity in the restaurant industry after almost seven years with Hospitality SPB.
GJ Hart has worked as a four -branding CEO during his multi -decades restaurants career, including Texas Roadhouse, California Pizza Kitchen, Torchy’s Tacos and, more recently, Red Robin, where he occupied the role of September 2022 until June 2025. He also serves as an operational partner for investment force and will continue to serve as president and CEO of HART Hart.
“GJ is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the restaurant business and a solid success history,” Morgan McClure, a member of the Hospitality Board of SPB in Fortress Investment Group, in a statement, said in a statement. “His experience and reputation will be important as we continue our work to position Spbhospitality for continuous growth. We are grateful to Josh for his leadership in recent years and wish him the best as he takes advantage of his next opportunity in the industry.”
Hart’s announcement as CEO arrives during a year of massive change for the company, since SPB Hospitality has sold six of its concepts since last December, including all its former concepts of Brewery and the former Tavern of Chicago Pizza +.
“I feel honored to join SPB Hospitality at such an important time,” Hart said in a statement. “This is a company with a diverse and iconic portfolio of brands, a talented team and a solid base. I hope to work closely with the Board, the leadership team and the operators to build the momentum already in force and take SPB to its next chapter.”
The SPB hospitality is the majority of funds administered by AFFILIATES OF Fortress Investment Group.
