As a powerful nor’easter hits the east coast of the United States, Tropical Storm Lorenzo formed on October 13 in the central Atlantic.
The National Hurricane Center said models vary on how strong Lorenzo could become, from a weak tropical storm to a Category 2 hurricane.

Current models show Lorenzo turning north toward the Atlantic before turning east toward Africa or Portugal.
Lorenzo is the 12th named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
