Actor, director and former Calvin Klein model Mark Wahlberg is no stranger to Palm Beach County and is now a homeowner himself. The 54-year-old bought a $30 million-plus mansion west of Delray Beach this month with a deed filed Oct. 16 in Palm Beach County official records.
It’s unknown if Wahlberg plans to become a full-time resident of the Sunshine State, but here’s what we do know about his recent home purchase.
Mark Wahlberg bought a property worth more than $30 million at Stone Creek Ranch in West Delray Beach
The home in the ultra-elite Stone Creek Ranch community west of Delray Beach has 18,600 square feet of interior space with a total of 26,000 square feet including outdoor areas. The seven-bedroom, twelve-bathroom home, called Palazzo di Lago, features a home theater, gym, 170,000-gallon saltwater lagoon-style pool, a sparkling white agate wall in the breakfast area, a secret cigar lounge, a safe room, tennis court, wine cellar, wellness suite and an oversized outdoor chess board.
While a deed recorded in official Palm Beach County records lists the home’s sales price as $32.6 million, the multiple listing service shows it sold for $37 million. There may be discrepancies between the recorded deed price and the price agreed upon at closing if, for example, furniture or artwork is included in the sale. The purchase was made under a limited liability company called Closest to Delray.
Known as ‘Billionaire’s Row,’ Stone Creek Ranch is a magnet for celebrities and high-profile buyers.
Known as “Billionaire’s Row,” Stone Creek Ranch is attractive to celebrities and high-profile buyers due to its exclusivity and 24-hour security. The gated community has just 37 properties, and each of them sits on at least 2.5 to 3 acre lots with lake views.
Billionaire hedge fund manager and New York Mets owner Steve Cohen owns a home in Stone Creek Ranch. Celebrity buyers who have looked at Stone Creek Ranch properties recently include singer-songwriter Alicia Keys and 2021 Super Bowl halftime performer The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. Soccer star Lionel Messi also looked at Stone Creek Ranch before deciding on a home in Fort Lauderdale.
Mark Wahlberg’s ties to Palm Beach County include a brother
Wahlberg has visited Palm Beach County for many years. He is an investor in F45 Training, which has seven locations in Palm Beach County, including one about a mile from the Stone Creek Ranch home. In 2021, he worked out on a now-closed F45 at Jupiter after gaining weight for his film “Father Stu.”
In 2023, he helped raise money for victims of the World Central Kitchen and Maui fire by serving drinks at Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar in Delray Beach. And Wahlberg’s brother, Jim Wahlberg, is co-owner of the Riviera Beach company K12Print.
In 2024, the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, along with K12Print, donated a new passenger van worth $77,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
Stone Creek Ranch house is fit for royalty
The house in Stone Creek Ranch purchased by Wahlberg is called Palazzo di Lago. It was built in 2017 on a peninsula within the neighborhood that has only two other houses. Although it’s not new, it was redesigned by Aldo Stark of Prestige Design Homes and was originally on sale in March for $45 million.
Designed with the glamor of Lake Como and the allure of James Bond’s “Casino Royale,” the home has an oversized seven-car garage with a separate golf cart enclave. Design features include 30-foot ceilings, expansive walls of glass, crystal chandeliers, a chef’s kitchen with walnut and gray Italian marble, and a hallway lined with Brazilian Guyana wood.
From California to Las Vegas and now to Delray Beach’s ‘billionaire’s row’
Wahlberg moved with his family from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 2022. In 2024, The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that two major film companies were planning to build a $1.8 billion movie studio and mixed-use development in the area following Wahlberg’s move. Wahlberg has said that moving to Las Vegas was partly for his four children, whom he wanted to put in a “good, safe, healthy environment where they can thrive, pursue their interests and goals and pursue what they want to do in life,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024.
While Palm Beach County has some areas called “billionaire’s row,” including the city of Palm Beach, Stone Creek Ranch’s rising sales prices have earned it the nickname. In November 2024, Villa Specter sold for $55 million off-market, according to the listing agent, with a recorded deed reflecting a $36.8 million sale. The house next door, Casa Maranello, sold in January for $50.5 million according to the multiple listing service with a recorded deed of $41.5 million. Stark is reportedly working on a home in the community that will sell for $65 million.
