Manchester City could move two points behind the Gunners if they beat Newcastle on Saturday night, but Guardiola again stressed there is a long way to go.

“It was nine points when we had a game less, so as long as everyone is in the same matches and matches, we will see the difference,” Guardiola said.
“A lot of things are going to happen. I said it weeks ago. A lot of things are going to happen until the end of the season.
“12 games is a lot, as I said before. So Newcastle is my only worry.
“We’ll be worried about the League Cup final against Arsenal when it comes, but for now it’s Newcastle, a break and then Leeds. It’s always been like that.
“As a journalist, I understand that you want to anticipate what is going to happen. That doesn’t count. It’s Newcastle, that’s all.”

Guardiola insists he has not mentioned to his players the possibility of closing the gap on Arsenal this weekend.
“I didn’t talk about it for a second,” he said. “Just Newcastle, Newcastle, Newcastle.
“I didn’t talk about the table, our position or anything like that. I couldn’t care less. There are 12 games (still to play).
“If you ask me this question with two or three games left, I will have your answer.
“There are 12 games left, it’s an eternity.”
