New York — Police shot a man who was using a sharp object at a Brooklyn hospital on Thursday.
New York City Police say the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Officers responded to a report of a man armed with a sharp object inside the facility located in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood. Officers shot the man, who has not yet been identified.
The ministry declined to provide further details, including the type of weapon the man was carrying or his condition after the shooting, saying more information would be provided at a news conference later Thursday.
Hospital spokespeople declined to comment, surrendering to the police.
