Leland, Miss.– Leland, Miss. (AFP) – A seventh person died from his injuries Mass shooting after a high school football rematch earlier this month in the Mississippi Delta town of Leland, the coroner said.
Washington County Coroner Laquisha Watkins said Saturday in a news release that her office was notified by the Hinds County Coroner’s Office on Friday of the death of 25-year-old Ebane Williams.
Nine people were arrested Many of them were charged With murder punishable by death, in connection with the shooting around midnight on October 11, which also left more than a dozen people injured.
The FBI’s Jackson Field Office released photos of suspects wanted for questioning in the mass shooting. It happened when people celebrated the weekend in downtown Leland shortly after a football game.
Authorities have not revealed a possible motive for shooting Leland, but the FBI said the shooting appeared to have “resulted from a dispute between several individuals.”
