We’ve seen some improbable Bears comebacks this season before, but never like this one. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about the Bears under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, it’s that they don’t quit.

Saturday night was the sixth time this season they’ve pulled out a win after trailing in the final 2 minutes of the 4th quarter, but it’s never been more statistically improbable. When the Bears were down by 7 at the 2-minute warning, they had a 5% chance of winning. They still found a way, tying the game to force overtime and then winning it on a 46-yard pass from Caleb Williams to DJ Moore, electrifying the crowd with a definitive victory, 22-16.
The Bears earned their 11th win of the season, their most since 2018, putting them in the driver’s seat of the division.
The Bears have a game-and-a-half lead over the Packers and are in control of their own playoff destiny.
A playoff spot could be secured as early as Sunday if the Detroit Lions lose to Aaron Rodgers’ Pittsburgh Steelers. That game began at 3:25 pm CT at Ford Field.

Or the Bears can keep it simple and win. They will face the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday night and then finish the season at home against the Lions. That would win the division, and a split in their final two games would also win the NFC North.
If the Bears stumble and don’t win the division, they could still make the postseason as a wild card team, so the opportunity is there thanks to Saturday night’s win.
Their next opponent, the 49ers, will play Monday night in ACB7, so they will have a short week when they face the Bears.

The day after their improbable victory, Bears fans would consider it a stress-free Sunday following a huge comeback victory over the Packers.

ABC7 stopped by Wings and Rings in Bridgeport, where fans were relaxing, awaiting a Detroit Lions loss that would officially clinch the Bears’ playoff spot.
The playoffs are on everyone’s minds now, as fans are still recovering from what they witnessed on Saturday night.
Many people shared their end-of-game celebrations with ABC7 from packed bars across the city.
“Yesterday’s game, the way it ended, it’s a miracle, so it was beautiful and I’m happy,” said a Bears fan named Fernanda.
Fans have been through rollercoaster games all season, dubbing the Chicago team the “Cardiac Bears.”

It’s a special season that has brought in many new fans and, of course, many customers for companies that host viewing parties.
“It’s great for business, it’s great for the environment, the staff loved it,” said Wings and Rings general manager Jesse Garcia. “For the Bears to win and do their thing means a lot to us, it means a lot to Chicago as a whole and it means a lot to the business.”
