The Age of Al Horford in Golden State is officially underway. After a low season full of linked between the Warriors and the veteran center, Horford is scheduled to join Golden State after a period of four years with the Boston Celtics.
On Wednesday, the Warriors officially presented Horford as a team member. In addition to answering questions from media members, Horford revealed his new Golden State shirt with a new number.
After using the number 42 with the Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Oklahoma City Thunder, Horford chose the number 20 for his period with the Warriors. The previous number of Horford, No. 42, is retired with the warriors in honor of Nate Thurmond. Horford also carried the number 42 in his university days with the Florida Gators. Horford also carried the number 15 at the beginning of his career with the Atlanta Hawks.
