Boston Red Sox right fielder Wilyer Abreu had a series in Cincinnati. The 2026 WBC champion went 6-for-13 against the Reds with two home runs and 4 RBIs. He was Boston’s best offensive player through the first three games of the season, and Red Sox manager Alex Cora believes Abreu can stay active going forward.

Cora reminded reporters following the game that Abreu seemed similarly locked in at the start of the 2025 season.
“I think this is sustainable,” Cora said. “He has a good understanding of his swing and what the opposition is trying to do. We just have to keep giving him more at-bats, especially against lefties, and see where it takes us.”
