For the third consecutive draft, the first SEC player selected came from LSU. Jayden Daniels went No. 2 overall to the Washington Commanders in 2024 and Will Campbell went to the New England Patriots No. 4 overall last year. The Chiefs made moves to sign Delane on Thursday.

Two Tigers were chosen on the second day of the third round on Friday and four on Saturday, the final day of the draft. Three defensemen, including Delane, from a unit that took a big step forward in 2025, have reached the professional level.
Four offensive players heard their names called, including Garrett Nussmeier. He was thought to be a Heisman contender and potential first-round candidate until an injury derailed his 2025 campaign.
LSU was one of six schools to have seven players drafted, which is the fifth-most. 10 players were selected from Alabama and Texas A&M, leading the SEC.

Mansoor Delane
Delane was the first former Tiger removed from the board. The Kansas City Chiefs moved up from No. 9 to move Delane to No. 6 overall. It’s the second-highest draft pick for an LSU defensive back.
Delane, a unanimous All-American in 2025, made a huge impact during his lone season wearing the purple and gold. He didn’t allow a touchdown all season and played penalty-free football.
The defensive back trend continued when Haulcy, a safety, went in the third round at 78th overall to the Indianapolis Colts. It matched projections as a top 100 pick.
Haulcy played one season in Baton Rouge and earned a first-team All-SEC selection. He made 88 tackles and three interceptions in 12 games.

A versatile weapon for LSU’s offense, Thomas went in the third round. The Chicago Bears selected him with the 89th overall pick. He joins a promising offense led by quarterback Caleb Williams.
While he was listed as a wide receiver, Thomas did a little bit of everything for the Tigers during his two years in Baton Rouge. He caught 41 passes for 488 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. As a ball carrier, Thomas totaled 99 yards and a touchdown on 19 attempts. He also completed two passes in addition to returning kickoffs and punts.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Sharp 185th overall during the sixth round. He played one season at LSU after a big year at Oklahoma in 2024. Sharp started every game in 2025. The tight end made 24 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns.

Sharp’s selection makes it consecutive years that LSU tight ends have heard their names called. Mason Taylor went to the New York Jets in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Brown was the second LSU wide receiver to participate in the 2026 NFL Draft. He will remain in the trunk for the time being, as the New Orleans Saints selected him 190th overall during the sixth round.
After three seasons at Kentucky, Brown opted to spend his senior year in Baton Rouge. He caught 53 passes for 532 yards and a touchdown while also serving as a kick returner.
Perkins played four seasons at LSU before declaring for the NFL. He probably could have made the jump after last year, but an injury in 2024 led him to don the purple and gold for his senior season. The linebacker had 56 tackles and four sacks last year.

The Atlanta Falcons selected Perkins in the sixth round with the 215th pick. He showed versatility as a pass rusher and in coverage during his time at LSU.
Garrett Nussmeier
Nussmeier, who was once considered a first-round contender, heard his name called on the final day of the draft. The Kansas City Chiefs drafted him in the seventh round 249th overall.
Nussmeier, a two-year starter for the Tigers, suffered an injury that derailed his 2025 season. During his four years in Baton Rouge, he threw for 7,699 yards and 52 touchdowns with a 64% completion percentage.
