Palladino prepares to negotiate the contract with Atalanta despite the victory in the Champions League
Palladino was appointed La Dea coach in November following the dismissal of Ivan Juric. At the time, he put on paper a contract that will run until the end of the 2026-27 season, but Atalanta are now considering handing him a new, longer-term contract, potentially until the summer of 2029.

Because the club is satisfied with the work done by Palladino so far.
Despite the recent drubbing by Bayern Munich, La Dea appreciates the fact that Atalanta was able to overcome Borussia Dortmund in a particularly memorable Champions League victory in February, and the fact that the club is now back in contention for a potential European spot next season after a disappointing start to the 2025-26 Serie A campaign.
Atalanta are also still in the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, which means they are the only Italian team left standing in Serie A, the Cup and the Champions League, although their round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich is practically already resolved.

Palladino was also named Serie A coach of the month for February following a string of wins against Cremonese, Lazio and Napoli.
According to reports from TMW, Atalanta now hope to sit down with Palladino to discuss a possible extension of their deal until 1019 as a sign that they trust him as the right man to take the project forward.
