The 25th Winter Olympic Games have seen almost 3,000 athletes from 90 countries competing for 116 medals in Milan-Cortina.

Team GB sent 53 athletes to the Games with a record three gold wins, plus one silver.

Here’s your guide to what will happen on the final day and who to watch out for.

Bobsleigh: four-man heats three and four (09:00 and 11:12)

The story catches the attention of German great Francesco Friedrich on the final day of the Games.

The 35-year-old arrived in Italy with four Olympic titles. He won silver in the two-man event and is now competing to become the first athlete to win five golds in bobsleigh.

Their biggest rival is the second German team, led by Johannes Lochner, who is in first place and Friedrich second after the first two passes.

The Team GB sled piloted by Brad Hall is seventh.

The American-born 21-year-old competing for GB is the current world champion and qualified first.

Curling: Women’s Gold Medal Match: Switzerland – Sweden (10:05-13:20)

Switzerland beat the United States on Friday afternoon, while Sweden beat Canada to book their place in the final.

The Swiss are guaranteed their first women’s medal since 2006, but have yet to win gold.

Sweden was champion in Pyeongchang in 2018 and won bronze four years ago.

Canada has claimed a record nine Olympic golds and the return of NHL players is a boost to their chances as they seek their first gold since 2014.

This also applies to the United States, which has not won the title since 1980’s ‘Miracle on Ice’.

It’s good to know

With all the events completed, at 7:00 p.m. it is time for the Closing Ceremony of the XXV Olympic Winter Games, which will take place in the emblematic Arena, a Roman amphitheater in the historic city of Verona.

Milan Cortina will announce the arrival and make the traditional transfer to the team from the French Alps, where the 2030 Games will be held.
