Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix unexpectedly held an end-of-season conference call with reporters on Wednesday even though his season ended a week and a half early.

Nix’s reason for making the call seems clear: he wanted to set the record straight.

Following the QB’s season-ending ankle surgery, ESPN’s Adam Schefter (and others) reported that Nix would be sidelined for approximately 12 weeks. Nix began his conference call by debunking that.

“It was a very quick procedure, a very simple operation,” Nix said. “Just a simple bone fracture, they fixed it. Great surgeon, excellent care, I’m just back on my road to recovery. So, a typical bone fracture: four to six weeks, back to training, ready to roll.

“I had a lot of differences – you hear a lot of different weeks and speculation when something like this happens and unfortunately, you can’t hear from me for a while, but there won’t be any problems this offseason. In fact, I’ll be able to start training at the same time I was going to start training, so don’t miss a moment.”

Nix reiterated several times that it was a “clean breakup” with a “simple operation” and a “simple recovery” with no lingering problems.
