The Brazilians took the lead with a magnificent goal on the counterattack in first-half stoppage time. The Botafogo attacker, Danilo, finished decisively after a dizzying run by Vinicius Jr. of Real Madrid.
Croatia equalized through Lovro Majer in the 83rd minute, but Endrick, a second-half substitute, turned the game in favor of Brazil.
The Lyon striker won Igor Thiago’s penalty to level the score in the 88th minute, then set up Martinelli for Brazil’s third in added time to seal the victory.
The result offered some revenge for Brazil, which was eliminated by Croatia on penalties in the quarterfinals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
