Toyota said he did not know when production could resume in his plants in happy Porto, where he manufactures engines and sorocaba, where he assembles vehicles such as Yaris, Corolla and Corolla Cross.

A union that represents metallic workers in the region said in a separate statement that around 30 workers were injured in the incident, none seriously, and that the wind storm started part of the unit’s warehouse roof.

Toyota said there were no deaths and that a report was being prepared to completely evaluate the scope of the damage.

The damage also forced the car manufacturer to postpone indefinitely the launch of its new model for the local market, the Yaris Cross, which had initially been scheduled for October 16.
