To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire covers the complete history of the franchise’s jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the team’s founding.
And for today’s article, we will continue with number 16 of 21 people who wore jersey number 44, the great man Marc Jackson. After finishing his college career at Temple, Jackson was selected with the 38th overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors.
The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native played parts of the first two seasons of his NBA career with the Dubs, coming to an end when he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2002. He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers before being traded to the (then) New Jersey (now Brooklyn) Nets in 2005. His stay with the team lasted until he was traded again, this time to the (then) New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) in 2006.
