One of Canada’s favorite pastimes will be ready to debut before the 2026 Winter Olympics.

The Canadian Olympic Curling Trials will begin on Saturday, November 22, with eight men’s and eight women’s teams battling for the chance to represent their country in northeastern Italy.
Team Canada’s Olympic trials often provide a window into the medal fight during the Olympic season. The Canadians have 12 curling medals to their credit, the most in Olympic history. Six of them are gold, two more than their closest rival, Sweden.
Canada failed to claim an Olympic title in 2022, settling for bronze in the men’s competition and a fifth-place finish in the women’s competition. That may inspire some solid performances from the Canadian faithful, including Brad Gushue, Mark Nichols and Brett Gallant, all members of Canada’s 2022 Olympic men’s curling team.
