For most of the league, the NBA All-Star break gives guys a chance to catch their breath. The weeklong vacation is the last time they enjoy a mini-vacation before the final third of the 2025-26 regular season and beyond.

While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jared McCain were part of the All-Star weekend festivities, the rest of the Oklahoma City Thunder enjoyed some downtime in their hometowns.

Cason Wallace also joined the trend of having one of his former basketball homes pay tribute to him. The 22-year-old had his high school No. 22 jersey retired at Richardson High School in Texas.

That’s where Wallace became a five-star recruit. He ultimately committed to Kentucky as a one-time college player. The Thunder selected him with the No. 10 pick in the 2023 NBA draft. He has helped OKC become an instant title contender in three seasons.

Wallace has been one of OKC’s best defensive players. He is in the running to win the steals title this season. He has averaged 8.1 points on 42.4% shooting, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He has shot 34.8% from three-point range in 3.8 attempts. He has averaged two steals.

The Thunder won an NBA championship in 2025. Wallace played a key role in his career as a role player. Considering he will be eligible for a contract extension next offseason, OKC is expected to sign him to a new deal that will keep him around for the remainder of this contest window.
