With their first-round pick, Los Angeles trades with the Texans and selects Texas A&M guard Chase Bisontis with the 28th overall pick.
After the Bolts’ season was derailed in part by injuries on the offensive line, Jim Harbaugh should be very interested in adding a tough-minded offensive lineman like Bisontis, especially if free agents Zion Johnson and Jamaree Salyer are not retained.
With only five picks in this year’s draft, the Bolts would be wise to pursue a trade in an effort to stock up on more picks. As for the pick itself, the Bisontis would be an upgrade at either guard spot, with Zion Johnson a pending free agent and Mekhi Becton a cut candidate, as well as a great scheme fit for offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.

In Round 2, Los Angeles addressed the edge rusher position with the selection of another Aggie in Cashius Howell.
Odafe Oweh and Khalil Mack are set to hit the free agency market. If they don’t return, the Chargers will need a running mate opposite of Tuli Tuipulotu. Howell doesn’t offer much as a run defender, but he knows how to consistently pressure opposing quarterbacks.
With their third-round pick, the Chargers add Oregon offensive tackle Isaiah World.
Mundial is an experienced player with four years as a starting tackle. But while the Chargers could use a swinging inning, it seems too early to do so. Instead, they would be better off adding another interior offensive lineman, defensive tackle or cornerback.
