Chelsea centre-back Aaron Anselmino (20) has reportedly turned down the chance to join BlueCo-owned RC Strasbourg for the remainder of the 2025-2026 campaign, according to RMC Sport. The Argentina youth international spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Borussia Dortmund, but was recalled by Chelsea this month, presumably to free up a loan slot for a player they would like to sign on loan, such as Jérémy Jacquet from Rennes.
But as they have yet to reach an agreement with Rennes for the signing of the French Under-21 international, Chelsea have explored contingency plans to bolster Liam Rosenior’s defensive options. One of those plans leads to Mamadou Sarr, who is currently on loan at BlueCo-owned Strasbourg.
