The College Football Playoff is right around the corner and the debate still rages over which conference is still superior.

The Big Ten has built a strong case with the likes of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Indiana Hoosiers, Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans and Illinois Fighting Illini among the best in the conference.
But college football analyst Danny Kanell of CBS Sports disagrees.
“I don’t think the Big Ten is as deep as the SEC,” Kanell said. “You know, I think it’s okay.”
As the other panelists argued Kanell’s point, Kanell suggested there was a major flaw in that argument.
“Even saying that, how does that translate into how much better you have to be?” -Kanell asked. “Does that mean 9-3 is better than 11-1 in the Big Ten or the SEC? No. So I’m fine if there are 10-2 teams over a one-loss team. I just think sometimes we have that gap.”

It’s unclear how wide the gap may get, but the strange thing is that both conferences are making their case as the best in college football by a wide margin.
In a few weeks, that debate may reach a different level depending on which SEC and Big Ten teams end up making the playoffs and making a deep run in the process.
But there is still a lot to decide, which is the intrigue of all this.
For now, the games must end.
