Reggie Wayne still hasn’t received that last phone call.

The legendary Indianapolis Colts receiver remains a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but he has not yet made it in.

Wayne is a finalist this year for the seventh time.

“I check with AT&T every year and make sure my phone is up and running,” Wayne told reporters Thursday. “But every time they call, I will answer.”

However, Wayne does not seek this validation.

“I just depend on my kids,” Wayne said. “My kids tell me I’m the best, so that’s all I need.”

Wayne is one of the best wide receivers of his generation.

However, for some reason, the Hall of Fame has not been quick to include modern wide receivers in recent years.

Wayne finished his career with 1,070 receptions for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns.

He also won a Super Bowl.

Wayne ranks 10th in receiving yards in NFL history, one spot behind his long-time teammate Marvin Harrison.

All three players directly below Wayne are in the Hall of Fame: Andre Johnson, James Lofton and Cris Carter.

Wayne’s time may still be coming, but it’s been a painfully long wait.
