Cleveland (AP) – The designated batter of Guardians, David Fry, was taken out the field in the sixth entrance on Tuesday night after being beaten in the face by a release while trying to play.
Fry faced a quick 99 mph ball from Tarik Skubal de Detroit and the launch hit him in the nose and mouth area before deviating from his bat.

When Fry collapsed in the hitter’s box and grabbed his face, a visibly shaken skubal took off his glove and cap when Cleveland’s manager Stephen Vogt, and the coaches rushed into the field.
Fry lay down in the batting box for several minutes before they slowly helped him stand up. He was expelled in a cart.
Skubal, the current winner of the Cy Young award, walked through the box while Fry was being helped. The left -handed then threw a wild launch to George Valera, who replaced Fry, allowing Cleveland to score. Skubal was also called to a balk at the entrance when the guardians recovered for three races to take a 3-2 advantage.
There was no immediate word about Fry’s condition.
