Sara Arjun was among the notable faces seen at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday as Mumbai Indians took on Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2026. The Dhurandhar 2 actress attended the match with her family, adding a touch of glamor to a high-octane competition.
Sara’s appearance comes at a time when she is enjoying the best of her career following her role as Yalina in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where she starred alongside Ranveer Singh. The film has struck gold at the box office since its release on March 19, crossing Rs 700 crore in India and Rs 1,100 crore globally. On the field, it was Mumbai Indians who stole the show, ending a long wait for a winning start to an IPL season. Chasing a daunting 221, MI claimed a six-wicket win, their first win in the first game since 2012.
The foundations of the chase were laid by Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, who put together an imposing starting position. Rohit made 78 off 38 balls, while Rickelton followed up with a fluent 81 off 43, putting KKR on the back foot early in the innings.
Earlier, KKR had posted a solid 220 for 4 after half-centuries from captain Ajinkya Rahane (67) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (51). Despite the imposing total, Mumbai’s batsmen ensured that the chase never got out of control.
With a dominant batting display and a historic win to kick off their campaign, MI gave their home fans (and celebrity spectators like Sara Arjun) plenty to celebrate on a memorable night in Mumbai.
