The former star of Chelsea, Gus Poyet, said that Cole Palmer needs to leave the club if he wants to win the Ballon d’Or.

Palmer took the eighth place in this year’s event, which was won by the star of Paris Saint Germain Ousmane Dembele, with Lamine Yamal’s finalist.

The England’s international had a good year for the blues and was appointed man of the match at the Finals of the Conference League and the Club World Cup for their winning contributions.

The beginning of the new campaign has been difficult for Palmer, since he has fought against an injury in the groin that has given him problems from the club’s World Cup.

Palmer has lost the last two Chelsea games against Brighton and Benfica and Saturday game will also be lost with the leaders of the Liverpool League.

Despite signing five new Chelsea attackers, they apparently depend on Palmer so that things happen, despite not winning a game that appears this season.

Palmer has mentioned what it is its ambition to win the Ballon d’Or and former poyet Blue Poyet feels that he needs to leave the club so that this is a reality.

“100%, no doubt,” he told Got.

“For me, (Jude) Bellingham when I saw him in Dortmund, I liked it a lot.

“Then, his first season at Real Madrid, I love him. Why? Because he was at Real Madrid doing what he was doing, simple.

“And I thought, maybe he is Ballon D’Or. It was a great opportunity because his first season in Spain was incredible: it was tremendous, another dimension, another level, and that helps.

Lamine Yamal wouldn’t win the Golden Ball if she played in England?

Poyet then went to affirm that Yamal would not win the prize if he played in the Premier League, while he also believes that the vote is unfair.

“Lamine Yamal would win the Golden Ball if I were playing in another team, Liverpool? There is no possibility,” he added.

“I would say that I don’t like Ballon d’Or nominations and I don’t like the vote, I think they are not fair. People in Spain vote for those who play in the league, people in England vote for those of England.”
