On Friday, May shared that he’s not interested in any other jobs, but that hasn’t quelled speculation from many outside of Ann Arbor. But it’s Ann Arbor who matters most, and on Sunday, the eve of the national championship game, May gave the Wolverines a huge vote of confidence.

According to ESPN insiders Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello, May has told the maize and blue that he won’t be looking for any other job than the one he already has. North Carolina expected May to close out its turn in the NCAA Tournament and then be receptive to its advances once he was no longer preparing his team for postseason games.
May had opened up Friday about why he hadn’t just shot down all the noise surrounding him and the Tar Heels. He shared simply, pointing out that his words had been taken out of context before and that he had not wanted to repeat that incident. He also stated that he is perfectly happy in Michigan.“After last year, I decided that I will never respond to any job speculation,” May said. “I had already agreed to terms with Michigan, I was 100 percent done, and I made the comment that I was flattered by a certain job opening because of my background, and that was misinterpreted, so I decided I’m never going to comment on any job I don’t have. I think it’s well documented how happy I am in Michigan.

“Obviously, my private life, my personal life, my family, their happiness is very important. Yes, I love being at Michigan, but you will never hear me comment on any other job unless Michigan lets me go, and then I will comment on every job.”
The job May referenced last year was Indiana, which would have been the biggest threat to keeping him away from Ann Arbor. May is an Indiana native, graduated from Indiana and got his start working with famed head coach Bobby Knight.
