No. 5 Texas A&M (5-0, 2-0 SEC) will host Florida (2-3, 1-1 SEC) on Saturday night, as the Aggies look to remain undefeated before hitting the road for three straight weeks. For the Gators, defeating Texas in the Swamp last Saturday was a jolt to what was a 1-3 team on the slope. However, this game is at Kyle Field, where the Aggies have played their best football this season.

This week, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko spoke at length about the Gators, knowing their defense will need to continue to apply constant pressure. This time, they will face sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway, who will target his impressive wide receiver duo led by Vernell Brown III and freshman Dallas Wilson. Against the Longhorns, Wilson, in his first college game, led the Gators with six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

However, Texas A&M’s offense needs to find a balance, as starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who is only completing 59.7% of his throws, needs to be more accurate in the first half, combined with consistent blocking up front to open up holes in the running game, which will only help Reed’s production, especially later in the game.

On Saturday morning, ESPN’s College Gameday crew once again picked Texas A&M’s Week 7 home matchup and, unsurprisingly, Desmond Howard was the only host who liked Florida, as Nick Saban, Pat McAfee, guest selector Sabrina Ionescu and Kirk Herbstreit went with the Aggies to protect the home field and reach 6-0 for the first time since the 2016 season.

Herbstreit, who trusts Marcel Reed and his elite wide receiver corps to get the job done, fairly noted that if this game weren’t at Kyle Field, Florida would likely be the favorite to pull off the upset.
