Della Maddalena (18-3) surrendered his strap to Islam Makhachev at UFC 322 last fall. As for Prates (23-7), he was last seen turning the screws on former champion Leon Edwards on the same card. “The Nightmare” opened as a slight favorite in UFC Perth moneyline betting.
“We both went into a violent flow,” Della Maddalena told MMAjunkie.com. “I think it’s going to be fireworks. There definitely won’t be a lot of dancing. I think in the first minute we’ll definitely go at each other. We’ll go at each other and see who’s the better fighter and then we’ll go all five rounds… I think I’ll beat him in the fifth round. I’m going to get the finish deep in the fight.”
