(Reuters) -Oracle appointed experts Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicily as CO -Ceo on Monday, replacing Safra Catz, who was in charge of the cloud service provider for 11 years.
Catz will remain with the company as vice president of the Board.
Here are five things to know about the new bosses of Oracle Magouyrk and Sicily:
Clay Magouyrk
* Magouyrk, 39, has a degree in inectic engineering from Memphis University. His early professional experience includes engineering roles in Hiltonhotels, followed by Amazon. * He joined Oracle in 2014, after six years at Amazon Andits Cloud Division, Amazon Web Services, where he had senior cloud leadership roles. * Magouyrk is a founding member of the CloudEngineering team in Oracle and has been essential to design and implement Oracle Cloud infrastructure. * It is also attributed significantly expansion of the operations of the Oracle’s Global Data Center. * As part of the new role, Magouyrk will be awarded to buy $ 250 million in shares.
Mike Sicily
* Sicily, 54, has an incomputer science of the Bachelor of Science of Saint Joseph in Pennsylvania. He remains actively committed to his Alma Mater, serving in the Table of Friends of Father Judge High School and support initiatives. * Sicily joined Oracle through its 2008 acquisition of the Projects Spring Systems management software provider, where Helast had the role of technology director. Hiscareer began as a software engineer in 1993. * He was recently president of Oracle Industries, supervising businesses, including retailers, financial services, medical care, communications, engineering and construction. * Sicily also actively participates in Philanthropicefforts, leading Oracle associations with governments and organizations around the world in areas such as COVID-19 Response Andhealthcare Innovation. * As part of the new role, Sicily will be awarded shares to buy $ 100 million in shares.
