Due to injuries to the wide receiver, the Atlanta Falcons will likely rely on Sills to play a major role. It has been quite a football journey for Sills to get here.
He wasn’t always a wide receiver.
Sills was a quarterback growing up. And he was first offered a college scholarship in seventh grade.
In fact, Sills committed to the USC Trojans as a seventh-grade quarterback.
Given all the time he had to pass between then and college, it’s no surprise that Sills didn’t stay with USC until the end.
In 2014, four years after getting engaged, he broke free and ended up choosing West Virginia.
He arrived in Morgantown still as a QB, but it didn’t take long for Sills to decide to play wide receiver.

He had a brief stint at El Camino College before returning to WVU. He led the country in touchdown receptions in 2017, then led the Big 12 in touchdowns in 2018.
Sills went undrafted in 2019.
He spent time with the Buffalo Bills, then the New York Giants and Denver Broncos before joining the Falcons.
Sills has played in 26 NFL games in his career.
In that time, he made 17 receptions for 157 yards.
Sills is still searching for his first NFL touchdown.
An NFL team has also not yet asked Sills to throw a pass on a trick play. But perhaps that is yet to come.
