Farke, 49, headed straight onto the Elland Road pitch at the final whistle to confront referee Peter Bankes, aggrieved by several decisions in his side’s close 1-0 Premier League defeat.

Farke, sent off for the first time in his 16-year managerial career, said he did not swear or use threatening language towards Bankes and his teammates, and that he had been shown the red card before saying anything.
He gave an 11-minute response when asked about the incident in his press conference ahead of Tuesday’s game against Sunderland (19:30 GMT).
“I ran over there,” he said. “Not a single bad word. No bad words or bad words. I just wanted to ask him why he didn’t add more injury time. He didn’t talk to me and just gave me the red card.
“I didn’t like getting a red card and embarrassing myself in front of everyone. Even the assistants were surprised by the red card. That’s not how we should work together. I have a lot of respect for referees.

“I don’t think Peter did it on purpose, he just misjudged it. I’ll never run again.”
The former Norwich boss could appeal the sacking but has not yet decided whether he will do so.
“I’m not sure what the processes are and when we can appeal it,” he said. “I can give you my intuition: this should not be a red card.
“When there has been a clear and obvious mistake, and for me it was a clear and obvious mistake, it should be overturned. This is what I have experienced when players get a red card by mistake, it can be overturned, and I expect the same.”
