Penalties
One of the most important facets of the game comes in the form of the yellow flag. LSU did not win the shootout battle against the Hilltoppers this week. The Tigers had nine penalties for 69 total yards, while Western Kentucky had just four penalties for 26 yards.

It wasn’t the best night for Van Buren against Western Kentucky. He was totally inconsistent as he finished the game 25 of 42 for 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also couldn’t do much on the ground, as he only carried the ball seven times for 12 yards.

The Hilltoppers’ run defense proved stingy against LSU for most of the night, but when the Tigers looked to close out the game in the second half of the fourth quarter, Harlem Berry stepped up. Berry led the way with 18 carries for 80 yards, but a late fumble helped WKU cut the lead to 13-10 with a minute left.

Haulcy tied Davhon Keys for the lead in tackles tonight with nine total tackles. Haulcy has found his name at the top of the tackles stat sheet several times this year.

LSU’s defense played very well against Western Kentucky. The Tigers limited them to 157 total yards, 130 of them through the air and 22 on the ground.
