Late last week, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Packers requested permission to speak with Senger about the open quarterbacks coach position, and starter Sean Mannion left the Packers to become the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator. Senger was on the Cardinals staff last year under head coach Jonathan Gannon, now Green Bay’s defensive coordinator.
Then Ian Rapoport, also of the NFL Network, posted on Feb. 3 that the Chicago Bears requested permission to speak with Senger, 30, about the team’s offensive coordinator position. He is from West Allis, played quarterback at Pius XI High School and then left for Wisconsin before the 2013 season. After staying two years, he went to UW-Oshkosh, where he played in 11 games over two seasons.

He immediately threw himself into coaching, first overseeing quarterbacks at Oshkosh, then in the same position at Carroll University, then running backs at UW-Whitewater before becoming offensive quality control coordinator in 2020 at North Dakota State, a team that happened to have current Packers receiver Christian Watson on the roster at the time.
Senger began coaching with the Cardinals as a quarterback assistant in 2022, and was promoted to passing game specialist in 2025. He also worked with college all-star games, serving as an assistant in the East-West Shrine Game this year for the second consecutive season, in addition to some work at the Senior Bowl in 2024.

Senger has also interviewed for the Buffalo Bills quarterback position; that staff features new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard, who became Wisconsin’s defensive backs coach a year after Senger left the University of Washington. The Eagles are also reportedly interested in talking to him about their quarterbacks coach position.
The Packers already added a Wisconsin native to the staff this offseason from Arizona with the hiring of Oconomowoc High School and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse alumnus Sam Siefkes as linebackers coach.
