Four days?!?!? Last-second UFC Vegas 112 card shakeup pits King Green against dangerous Octagon newcomer

UFC Vegas 112 lost a fight, but it also won a fun one.

Just four days before the show, the final UFC card of the ESPN era underwent a shakeup, and a good one. Green King is intervening to confront the dangerous newcomer to the octagon Lance Gibson Jr. this weekend (Sat., Dec. 6, 2025) at UFC Vegas 112 inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Eurosport was the first to report the confrontation.

Green (32-17-1) returns looking to stop the fifth two-fight skid of his long UFC career. His last two fights have been tough: he was on the wrong end of one of the best knockouts of the year: a spinning wheel kick from Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 313 (see highlights) — and before that, Paddy Pimblett strangled him unconscious at UFC 304 (see highlights).

Still, the 39-year-old has bright spots over the past few years, including wins over Jim Miller at UFC 300, Grant Dawson (see highlights), and Tony Ferguson. When Green is in the cage, chaos usually follows, making this late-notice booking even more intriguing.

Enter Gibson Jr. (9-1), who publicly asked for a UFC opportunity earlier this year at UFC Seattle but was passed over at the time. Now, he finally gets the nod and, in doing so, becomes part of the third father-son duo in UFC history. His father, Lance Gibsonfought at UFC 24 and UFC 29 against Jermaine Andre and Evan Tannerrespectively.

Gibson Jr. carries solid credentials in his debut. A veteran of six fights in Bellator (5-1 in the promotion), the 30-year-old has a 77 percent finish rate split between four knockouts and three submissions. His only professional defeat came against Vladimir Tokov.

A desperate veteran against a hungry newcomer, four days notice or not, rules this matchup.
