The 2025 Eugene Bright Parade
The third annual Eugene Bright and Party Party party brings lights, music and fun to the Eugene center on September 27, 2025.

It was a September occupied for me. First, my husband’s family converged in Eugene during a week of remembrance and celebration. We rushed to provide our house before the planned meeting for a long time. I even ended with Bill Dellinger’s old table, if you can believe that.
They repaired our roof and then our roof.
I went to the UO campus in Portland for the reception of Snowden’s interns, a trip to our intern, thousands, and a way of thanking the program that my career launched and that of hundreds of other journalists.
When he was Snowden intern with the registration guard, the newspaper was still in the old building in Chad Drive. I returned there last month for a special project that is close and dear to my heart.
Both in this position and in which I had previously in Bloomington, Indiana, it was important for me to ensure that the digital file of the newspaper was as complete as possible. I found here in Eugene, our partner in digitalization has great gaps in his collection. I connected to Steve Baker, who agreed to allow me to send the microfilm even in the old building to Newspapers.com, a division of ancestry.
The Baker family has maintained the collection of linked books and microfilm of the registered guard and its predecessors in the building in Chad Drive since the RG moved. I thank you for maintaining this collection safe and organized.
I am sending 17 boxes to Newspapers.com and I hope that in a few months our digital file is more complete.
It will help people as a woman who called the RG recently to look for information about herself. She wanted to know if we had published a birth announcement for her in the 1970s, but that part of the file has not been digitized, so to discover that she will have to go to the library and move through images of past pages.
Once the whole microfilm, both what I have gathered to send and in the tail, have been digitized, all with access to a public library that is subscribed to ancestry.com should be able to look for in the complete file with only a few keywords.
Finally, they invited me to be a judge at the Eugene Bright Parade. I looked through our photo galleries since recent years and I saw exactly what this celebration is about. That inspired me to join the Wild Paisley vintage sequin dress. I adorned that dress with so many lights, the children came so that I was directly from their favorite cartoons.
As one of my fellow judges exclaimed while I saw the parade, “I love Eugene!”
