Vadodara: The futuristic technology of 3D bioimpression, which allows living and biomaterial cells to be printed by layer to imitate the architecture of human tissues, demonstrated on the campus of the University of MS on Saturday. The Department of Zoology of the Faculty of Sciences of MSU organized a one -day workshop on 3D Bioimpression and 3D cell culture as part of an interface initiative of the academic industry. The event was held in collaboration with Himedia, based in Mumbai, an Indian multinational company specialized in biological products.“Around 1.15 million experimental animals are killed annually for R & D. organoids developed through 3D bioimpression could help save many of these lives,” said Dr. Ranjitsinh Devkar, Assistant Professor of Zoology and Call of the Program. The technology involves the layer deposition by Bioink layer, in which living cells become organoids, with the long -term objective of developing completely functional organs for the transplant. It promises applications in organ regeneration, repair, discovery and drug tests, disease modeling and advanced medical implants.A live demonstration, in which the living bone tissue was printed, was also part of the workshop. The session was attended by Professor Va Kalambar, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences; Professor B Suresh, Head of the Department of Zoology; Dr. Sanskrit Das, student of Johns Hopkins; and Dr. Giriraj Acharya de Himedia, who spoke conferences followed by a technical session.
