To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire covers the complete history of jersey numbers and the players who wore them since the team’s founding. For this article, we start with the second of five players to wear the Warriors’ No. 45 jersey.
That player would be Golden State big man John Shasky. After finishing his college career at Minnesota, Shasky was selected with the 61st overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft (there were many more rounds in that draft era) by the Utah Jazz.
The Birmingham, Michigan native spent the first two seasons of his professional career playing in other leagues until he signed with the Miami Heat in 1988 for the first season of his NBA career. After that, he signed with the Dubs in 1989 and was done when he was released in 1990.

During his time wearing a Warriors uniform, Shasky wore only jersey number 45 and scored 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
