The Chelsea coach was asked to talk a little about Moisés Caicedo, his star central midfielder, who is having an exceptional season. He did not hold back in his praise for the Ecuadorian star.

“Yes, from my point of view, it is my opinion (that he is the best in the world at his position),” Rosenior said.
“As a defensive midfielder, I wouldn’t want to sit next to anyone else (I sat next to him at the press conference) in the world. He knows it, I told him, I’ve watched it. Obviously, I have experience at Brighton, I know everything about his career.
“The scary thing for him is that, yes, he is still young, but sometimes he plays like he is 35, because his understanding of the game is excellent. For me, one of the most exciting things about coming to this club is working with players of Moi’s level and ability, but also trying to help them improve even more, which I think is possible.”

It’s not often that being told that you play like a 35-year-old is a compliment, but today it is, and we totally understand what that means. Tomorrow will be a big night for Caicedo to show what he can do at a truly European level.

Rosenior also answered questions about Cole Palmer. He continues to insist that the attacker isn’t going anywhere, but that won’t stop people from asking about it.
Chelsea are still planning to sell Tyrique George this month, but so far there has been very little talk about a concrete offer. Things need to speed up this week if we want the winger to move forward.
