Houston Rockets No. 0 Jersey History – Thomas Robinson (2013)

The Houston Rockets have had players with a total of 52 different jersey numbers (and have one that is not part of any number series for Houston assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson) since their founding at the start of the 1967-68 season, worn by just under 500 players throughout Rockets history.

To honor all the players who wore those numbers over the decades, Rockets Wire covers the entire history of the jersey numbers and the players who wore them from the team’s founding all those years ago to the present day.

With seven of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Rockets of all time who wore them, there’s a lot of history to cover.

And for today’s article, we’ll continue with the fifth of the 14 players to wear the number 0, alumni forward Thomas Robinson. After finishing his college career at Kansas, Robinson was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.

The Washington, District of Columbia native was traded to the Rockets 51 games into his rookie season, and remained with the team until the end, traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2013.

During his time suiting up for the Rockets, Robinson wore only jersey numbers 0 and 41 and scored 4.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
