Georgia women’s tennis regional matches at the ITA National Indoor Team Championships in Athens will not take place after Maryland, San Diego State and Washington State withdrew “due to weather-related concerns,” according to UGA. Georgia advances in the event.
Georgia’s men’s and women’s swimming meet against Tennessee was moved up one day to Friday at 1 pm at the Gabrielsen Natatorium. The “Swimapalooza II” festivities, which include free T-shirts for the first 500 spectators and free food for the first 250 fans, are still ongoing.
Georgia’s track and field teams are competing in the Orange & Purple Invitational at Clemson in a meet that begins a day early due to the threat of weather on Thursday and Friday.
The Athens area is under a winter storm warning from Friday night through Monday morning for ice accumulations of up to 0.75 inches and snow or sleet of an inch or less, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The Georgia men’s basketball game at Texas at 1:00 pm ET on Saturday remains as scheduled, into the early afternoon on Friday.
Oklahoma gymnastics postponed the 2025 national championship celebration and banner presentation that was planned for Friday’s Georgia meet to a future date.
“All fans who feel they can safely attend Friday’s meet will be admitted free of charge,” Oklahoma said on its athletics website.
