Hugo González continued his electric rookie season with the Boston Celtics on Monday in a blowout victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on the road.

Gonzalez was given the start by Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla on a night when Boston was missing Jaylen Brown, Neemias Queta (and Jayson Tatum, of course).
Gonzalez proceeded to attack the glass like a ferocious animal, grabbing 16 rebounds in the air and adding 18 points, three steals and two rejections to his statement performance. Hugo scored +27 that night, second only to Derrick White’s +31 in that regard.
As CLNS Media’s Noa Dalzell alluded to on X, Monday was Hugo’s moment.
Having just turned 20 in February, González’s future in the NBA is incredibly bright. The fact that he’s already impacting wins at this level has everyone associated with the Celtics on cloud nine for drafting Hugo.Advertisement
The Celtics (41-20) will host the rising Charlotte Hornets at TD Garden on Wednesday.
