Ambush attempts in Khan Yunis

In recent months, there have been many attempts by Hamas terrorists to ambush soldiers emerging from tunnels in Khan Yunis.

Notably, in mid-August, IDF soldiers thwarted an attempt by more than 15 terrorists to attack an IDF post in Khan Yunis. Three soldiers were injured in the incident.

In early August, soldiers from the IDF’s 36th Division fought some 13 armed terrorists in Khan Yunis who attempted to ambush them and likely kidnap the soldiers. The terrorists were armed with Kalashnikov rifles and grenade launchers. The terrorists eventually retreated to an underground tunnel.
